PhD position on the crisis of information

DIGSUM's home department — Department of Sociology at Umeå University — has an open call for a PhD position within the research school ReSource.

ReSource takes as its starting point the current “crisis of information,” characterised by, among other things, the proliferation of misinformation and conspiracy ideologies, the commercialisation of the public information infrastructure, the entry of AI technologies into more and more areas, and the increasing distrust of traditionally trusted institutions. Submitted research plans should be in any of these areas.

We provide, below, an English language explanation of the application process, and please don’t hesitate to contact us at digsum@digsum.net if you need any additional support in applying.
