Panel discussion: The stories we tell (and are told) about AI

Friday 24th of May 14:15-15:45 At Humlab

On the 24th of May, Humlab and TAIGA – Centre of Transdisciplinary AI are hosting a panel discussion on “The stories we tall (and are told) about AI”.

Artificial Intelligence has been a staple of science fiction for a long time. In times of rapid technological development such as ours, narratives and stories about AI arise and persist all around us, over and beyond sci-fi: in our expectations and fears about the technology, in press coverage, in public discussions, in policymaking, in companies' promises, and so on.

In this event, four experts in different areas of the humanities will discuss with the audience the nature, roles, and risks of the stories we tell, and are told, about AI.

Panelists:

  - Karin Danielsson (Humlab/Informatics)

      - Simon Lindgren (Sociology)

      - Karin Neutel (Historical, Philosophical,

and Religious Studies)

      - Berit Åstrom (Language Studies)

Moderator:

- Dimitri Coelho Mollo (TAIGA)
