Advancing Research Communication – The role of Humanities in the Digital Era

Monday–Wednesday 11-13th of December At Umeå University

Welcome to partake in the upcoming conference Advancing Research Communication hosted by Humlab on the 11-13th of December.

The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers in the humanities and related disciplines to discuss the role of research communication in a contemporary world characterised by disinformation, online hate, the climate crisis and the rapid development of AI (co-hosted session with TAIGA). Several DIGSUM-connected researchers will be presenting (for example Mathilda Åkerlund and Simon Lindgren).

Keynotes are friend-of-Digsum Mark Carrigan under the title "From social media to generative media: the confusing landscape of post-pandemic research communication" and Katja Valasikvi under the title "Conflict-prone themes and algorithmic vulnerabilities in the attention factory: Imagining constructive research communication beyond fact-checking and polarisation."

For registration and more information about the event, see [here].
